Why is health and social care mandatory training required?
Health and social care mandatory training is a requirement that places responsibility for employers, medical, nursing, healthcare and social care staff to work in a safe manner. Our statutory and mandatory training courses are developed and delivered at the appropriate level for different health and social care workers within their respective specialties. We provide a combination of classroom and blended learning solutions that include demonstrations, simulations and practical assessments to ensure that mandatory trainers gain a variety of core skills that can be applied in different health and social care environments. Our mandatory training courses are designed to meet the requirements of regulatory bodies (Care Quality Commission), commissioners and national framework such as the Skills for Health’s UK Core Skills Training Framework, Skills for Care and Health Education England.
Train the trainer courses to meet CQC compliance requirements
The Care Quality Commission provides specific requirements for health and social care providers based on their key lines of enquiry (KLOEs). Health and social care employers have a responsibility to ensure that their employees are qualified to the appropriate level, that they have attended certain mandatory training and that their practice is up to date. During their inspections of health and social care service providers, CQC ask the following questions:
Are they safe?
Health and social care providers have a statutory responsibility:to protect service users from abuse and avoidable harm.
Are they effective?
Effective service providers work to ensure that the care, treatment and support given to service users achieves good outcomes, helps them to maintain quality of life and is based on the best available evidence.
Are they caring?
Health and social care providers and their staff should involve and treat service users with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect.
Are they responsive to people's needs?
Responsive: services are organised so that they meet the needs of service users.
Are they well led?
In well-led organisations, the leadership, management and governance of the organisation make sure it's providing high-quality care that's based around individuals' needs, that it encourages learning and innovation, and that it promotes an open and fair culture.
